In recent years, our youth is not taking interest in pure sciences. In addition to this our youth is more inclined towards engineering and technical courses for higher studies also their choice of subjects for higher studies, among all the science subjects is not same. Apart from this there is a great cause of concern to every Indian that our youth is unaware of golden history of India in the field of sciences.

Due to these concerns, We has taken a lead to conduct Jigyasa every year at Jabalpur for science popularization and to increase scientific awareness. This program is like a science festival, which is a four-five day affair comprising various inter school and inter college competitions. During this period we organizes lectures of scientists at different places.

Every year on the occasion of technology day, the Bharat Ratna Dr. M.Visvesvaraya Jayanti(15th September), we organizes a programme called ‘JIGYASA’ which is like a science festival for young ones. 

JIGYASA has been organized with similar target of MVP's science popularization and is designed to be interactive in nature involving esteemed guest scientists and high school children of science streams from various schools in and around Jabalpur. Every year large number of students take part in this programme and every year students and teachers eagerly wait for this prestigious programme.JIGYASA is a great occasion for the students from this part of the country to expand their level of scientific imagination and make them better equipped to face the modern day challenges. Every year we give widespread publicity to the function through print and electronic media so as to attract young school going children from all parts of Mahakoshal region across all sections of the society.

At Jabalpur from past six years Jigyasa conducted by we is gaining popularity among students as well as common citizens. Under Jigyasa, keeping in view the Indian contribution to the world of science and our rich scientific traditions, various programs are held, as well as aspects regarding difficult scientific facts and development in modern science are explained to educate community.

The previous programs were blessed by Inventor of PARAM Super Computer Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Prof. Yashpal, Dr. V. B. Kamble (NCSTC), Dr. S. K. Malhotra(DAE), Dr. Manoj Pateriya (NCSTC), Dr. B. R. Guruprasad (ISRO), Dr. S. Satish(ISRO), Prof. Biman Basu, Dr. Rajendra Singh,Prof C. K. Raju (Mathematician from Malaysia) and other scholars have used the platform of Jigyasa to convey their views and findings on recent researches.

Jigyasa 2011 was a seven day affair. Major attraction was the presence of Padam Vibhushan Great Scientist Prof. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar. A two day workshop on chemistry for life organised at Govt. Model Science College, Jabalpur as a part of celebration for International year of chemistry was also major attraction. The workshop included lectures by renowned educationists and scientists like  Dr. Sourav Pal (Director, National chemical Laboratory, Pune), Dr. S. K. Malhotra (DAE), Prof. Shyamal Chakaraborty (Kelkatta Universities) and many other of same status.

Jigyasa-2012 was also a seven day affair. It was based on life sciences. Tha workshop on Mathematics was major attraction. The workshop was unique in the sense that it included school students, college students as well as teachers and research scholars.
